Shawls have always struck us as dramatic. Well, this one happens to be dramatic and sun protective. Made entirely of Solumbra fabric detailed with tonal “Solumbra” embroidery, it measures a generous 27" x 72"—just the size for draping over your arms, neck and shoulders.

this product can be used in many ways.... cover your arms while driving, use as a last minute cover up, cover the baby's in the stroller.... I really like the feel of this fabric. It is a natural fabric feel instead of a synthetic feel.... very nice to the touch. I will be using often

Perfect for driving in the car.
I leave this in the car for my drive to work. It is the perfect size to protect my chest which is very sensitive to the sun. I wrap it around my neck and use the ends to cover my arms. I also used it to cover my grocery bags when I went from one store to another (kept my ice in the shade away from the sun. I'ts nice and wide, wider than the shawl I was using before. I purchased black. Really great product and made well, like everything else I've order from Sun Precautions.

Extra protection on body parts that might see sun when traveling in car, neck wrap to fill gap between sun jacket and chin, stroller cover for baby, short term wind resistant wrap for baby in sudden, blustery SF weather, extra cover over hat and hood when I want hat brim pulled close to face, warm wrap and headrest barrier for air travel . . . Essential Car Item!!
Yes, I admit to wearing my Solumbra shirt backwards in the car to protect against blistering sun! No more, however, with this shawl. It's oversized & can be positioned any way needed to get ideal sun protection! Leaving it in my car as an essential item for both driving and when I don't want to wear sunscreen w/more expensive tops that don't love sunscreen. Ordered the white. It's so versatile will be ordering other colors, too! Great buy!

Exceptional fabric, exceptional material.
I suggest this shawl with no second thoughts. Its seam is so good! I sewed it, so I turned it into half its size and became a great scarf, to wrap it around my face and protect it from sun properly. I can use it as a shawl (I personally do not like using it as a shawl because I am too young for a shawl) as well! Drawback: with the shipping cost, far too pricey for my wallet. But the shawl is really worth the money. Thank you!!

How to Measure

Most Solumbra clothing is oversized.
It is designed with generous proportions to give you freedom to move around. There's no need to order larger sizes. Exceptions are noted in product copy.
Inseam:
Measurement from inside crotch seam to bottom of hem.
Unisex Tall Sizing:
Unisex tall shirts are sized for customers over 6'4" and have sleeve length measurements from center back of M 36"; L 381/2"; XL and 2XL 391/2".
Women's Tall Sizing:
Women's tall pants have a 34" inseam.
Women's Petite Sizing:
Petite garments are sized for customers up to 5'3".
Hats:
Measure around your head with measuring tape above your eyebrows and ears.
Gloves:
Measure around hand across the knuckles (exclude thumb). The number of inches determines glove size. If you are right-handed, measure your right hand and vice versa. People with extra long fingers, or who would like a looser fit should consider ordering a size up.
Shade Sleeves:
Sizing for this garment is based on your Solumbra shirt size.
